About The Author

As the result of an unholy union between an unsuspecting human and the vampire Lestat,  Nightshade Sekhmet Hathor was  born on Tatooine, a small desert planet in the Arkanis sector of the Outer Rim Territories, and remained there for the first 15 years of her life, until one afternoon when a mysterious blue box appeared near to her home. This was when she met the Doctor.
Once she had saved his life from a vicious horde of giant flesh-eating slugs, he offered her a place in the TARDIS as his assistant. And she accepted gladly, for during her time on Tatooine she had gained a rather undesirable reputationÉ
After a year or so of ripping adventures and escapades with the Doctor, and following the invention of the wrist guard which allowed her to open portals to alternate realities, she and the doctor decided to go their separate ways, saying a tearful farewell over high tea at the Ritz, in London, 1887. Over the next few years she built a considerable and notorious reputation as the secret leader of an underground crime and back market network, as well as becoming the first ever female member of the Diogenes Club.  She became a hugely rich and influential member of society in London, and it is widely believed that it was she who first introduced the fashion of corsets and top hats to the gentry of the Victorian era.
However following a messy break-up with her detective lover, she decided she had become tired of the restriction of Victorian London, and, leaving her buisness to a close friend, one Mr. Sykes, she used her almost forgotten invention to transport her to somewhere new and excitingÉthe fabled land of AlagŠesia.
Upon arriving in this unusual and magical world, she quickly tricked her way into training as a sorceress among the elves of EllesmŽra, before stealing a dragon egg and taking off as a rogue ShurÕtugal (dragon rider). During the years that followed, she became a double agent for Galbatorix, spying on the Varden, masquerading as the elf princess Arya Drštting. However when she saw that the Varden were winning, she decided to destroy him, then use her considerable magical powers to enchant the whole of AlagŠesia into thinking young Eragon had done it, at the same time making him forget about the events of the night beforeÉ
After this she accidentally stumbled upon a portal, which transported her and her dragon, Bernard, to 15th century Italy, Earth. Bernard was killed on sight by angry villagers, but nightshade slipped way unnoticed, only to emerge later on disguised as a man, and calling herself Leonardo.
A legendary career as a master artist and inventor followed, until his/her ÔdeathÕ in 1519. In fact, Nightshade had discovered a magical key, which began to glow, thus delivering her to present day London. After tying off a few loose ends with the help of her portal device, such as taking a brief holiday to Elizabethan times to help an old friend, William, with his little hobby of writing plays (she was a stickler for correct grammar, and interesting plots, neither of which he had much grasp of. He needed a lot of help.) And sending her memoirs to a few promising looking authors, she decided a new career was in order.
Thus through much cunning she found herself employed in the fantasy department of MI6.  Apart from almost being fired after being caught sleeping with one of M16Õs most successful (and underage) agents, she maintained a steady career as a cross-reality assassin.
Some of her assignments include the Pleasant case, the assassination of  Sepulchave Groan, and cover-up thereof,  and several top-secret operations involving pirates (she in fact ran away to sea for a while, her boss was not pleased, even when she brought him back a cannonball as a souvenir).
Her cases planned are rumored to include the infiltration of a Wizarding school in Scotland, and the arrest of a certain cannibal barber.
Currently she is working on a mission in the Shire, Hobbiton, going undercover as an elf concubine to catch her next victim unawaresÉyou know who you areÉ!
